TDP YOUTH TRIAL AND SELECTION PROCESS
All players, whether current Waterside Karori players or those who are interested in joining from other clubs, are invited to register to trial for our 2027 TDP teams!
The trial process begins with a week in November 2026, followed by another opportunity in February 2027 for those that do not make the initial tentative squads or those who did not attend the November trial period
November Trial Period
This week provides an opportunity for both our existing players and those interested in joining the club in 2027 to experience our training environment and demonstrate their skills as we select our TDP teams for the upcoming season.
The trial format is designed to give players the opportunity to demonstrate their abilities in both small-sided training environments and full 11v11 matches. This allows our coaching staff to assess players across different situations while giving players the chance to experience our coaching environment and club culture.
We encourage players to attend the Swifts Youth Summer Training Programme to be seen by our Swifts Coaches on a regular basis.
Allocation Announcements
The tentative squads for 2027 will be announced before Christmas, with several unallocated spots remaining open for new players - or those who did not progress through the first round - to the second trial period in February.
Final selection outcomes will be communicated towards the end of February.

TDP/SWIFTS WINTER TRAINING FEES
The TDP/Swifts Academy programme is an additional offering beyond the standard Waterside Karori AFC membership. As such, all TDP/Swifts Academy participants must pay a Training Fee, in addition to the Winter Season Registration Fee required to play in the winter competition.
The Training Fee includes a structured training programme aligned with long‑term player development principles, delivered by a qualified, professional coaching team throughout the winter season.
Upon accepting a place in a one of our TDP Youth teams, the player and family agrees to commit the full winter season and are expected to understand and adhere to the Swifts Charter. This outlines the standards and behaviours expected in the programme. All Swifts players are required to uphold high levels of respect, attitude, and sportsmanship at all times.
You can also view our Fees Policy here.
If full payment is challenging, please contact us to discuss alternative options.
