ABOUT KARORI KICKS

In 2021, all non-graded teams will be allocated a one-hour training slot on Monday evenings at Terawhiti turf.

These trainings will be led by a parent coach from each team (or the team can opt to engage a club coach for an additional cost).

In addition, club coaching staff will be in attendance at each training to support parent coaches with session delivery. The club coaching staff will also support parent coaches by:

  • circulating useful coaching resources;

  • assisting with session planning;

  • providing coaching development opportunities (through both stand alone education sessions and by providing feedback and advice at trainings).

Teams can opt out of this programme if they wish, and instead train on a local grass field on a day and at a time that suits (subject to the club's available grounds bookings).

PURPOSE

Our aim is that trainings will be heaps of fun while helping players to develop the skills they need to succeed in, and continue to enjoy, the game.

Trainings will incorporate a mixture of small sided football games and skill building activities. These games and activities are designed to be enjoyable, while also helping players to develop their football technique, game understanding, and general movement and coordination skills.

WHEN AND WHERE

Team trainings will be grouped by grade, as follows:

Mixed grades (Mondays):

5 - 6 pm 9th & 10th Grade

6 - 7 pm 11th Grade

7 - 8 pm 12th Grade

The programme will begin Monday 12 April and finish Monday 23 August
