About Swifts Academy

The Swifts Academy programme began in 2014, with the aim of providing young aspirational football players with an increased level of provision to take their next steps in their football journey. ​

​​Our highly qualified and knowledgeable coaching team will support you to build confidence with your football, leadership and teamwork skills, through a series of carefully designed training activities. 

 

We take an age appropriate, holistic approach to training, aiming to create a safe, challenging and enjoyable football environment for you to get the most out of your time with us.

​Swifts name

The name “Swifts” is a reference to Waterside Karori’s past. The Wellington Swifts (later named the Karori Swifts) was formed in 1894, and merged with Waterside AFC in 1987 to form Waterside Karori. The Swifts Academy revives the Swifts name.
