The programme is hosted at Terawhiti Artificial Turf (beside Karori Park)

  • Teams should be made up of 5 to 8 players. Teams will then be graded according to age and ability (see below).

  • The cost for a 10 week season is $300 per team or $50 per player (including GST)

  • Fixtures for games (i.e. exact times and oppositions) will be available before the season begins.

Usual football rules apply, except as set out below.

  • The first three rounds of the competition are grading games and no points are awarded. Placement of teams for the rest of the season is decided from the results of these games.

  • Games are played according to a weekly draw. The exact time of your game will depend on you age and grading, and may vary slightly week to week, but will be within the age group time slot set out above in the "When?" box.

  • Your team should arrive at the venue before the time your team is scheduled to play.  Team managers must check in with the League Coordinator on arrival.

  • Teams not available to play within 5 minutes of the scheduled start time will be defaulted.

Match duration

  • Matches are 40 minutes long (two halves of 20 minutes) plus a 5 minute half time).

  • Maximum of eight players per team, with five on the field at any time (including a goalie). Mixed teams (male/female are permitted).

  • Rolling Subs. The substituted player must leave the field prior to the substitute coming on.

  • Goal Keepers may be swapped when the ball is out of play and once the referee has been advised.

  • Goalkeepers may only handle the ball if the ball is inside the goal box.  The goalkeeper may not handle the ball from an intentional pass back (except headers). The goal keeper may leave the goal box, but is then treated as an outfield player until returning to the goal box.

  • The goalkeeper must restart the game within 6 seconds of collecting the ball.

  • When the ball is thrown or kicked by the goal keeper, the ball must make contact with a player or the ground before crossing the halfway line.  A free kick will be awarded to the opposition team at halfway if this does not occur.

Goal Scoring

  • A goal may be scored from anywhere on the field (except when played over half way by the goal keeper or directly from an out of play restart).

Ball out of play

  • Play is restarted with a goal kick or corner when the ball goes out behind the goal, or a kick in when the ball goes out on the sideline.

  • For all restarts, opposing players must be 3 meters from the ball.

  • Play must be restarted within 6 seconds of the ball being available to restart play.

Free kicks and penalties

  • All free kicks are direct. Opposing players must be at least 3 metres from the ball.

  • Penalties are taken from the edge of the penalty area and on the referee's signal. The goal keeper must be positioned on the goal line.

  • Advantage will be played where possible.

  • There are no offsides except from kickoff.
